Contractor's Dream started on a job site in Fort Worth, Texas — not in a Silicon Valley office. We built the software we wished we'd had.
The Problem
Was Personal.
Marcus Delgado ran a plumbing sub-contracting business in the DFW area for 14 years. He was good at the work. What he wasn't good at — what no one had made easy — was the business side.
Bids were built in Excel. Invoices went out late because he was on the job site all day. Subs got paid from a notebook. Materials were ordered by text message. He lost a $40,000 job once because his bid took three days to put together and the GC went with someone faster.
He looked at every construction software product on the market. They were either built for general contractors managing million-dollar projects, or so generic they didn't understand what a rough-in schedule or a lien waiver even was.
So he closed his business, partnered with Priya Nair, and spent a year talking to 200 Texas sub-contractors before writing a single line of code.

Serve Everyone.
On Purpose.
Texas residential construction has its own rules, its own licensing requirements, its own lien law, and its own way of doing business. A platform built for contractors in 50 states can't be built for Texas contractors specifically.
Our material cost libraries reflect Texas supplier pricing. Our lien waiver templates are compliant with Texas Property Code Chapter 53. Our bid templates are built around the way Texas GCs expect to receive proposals.
We cover all 254 Texas counties and we're not expanding until every contractor in the state has what they need. That's not a limitation — it's a commitment.
The Timeline
Marcus closes his plumbing business after 14 years — frustrated by the lack of software built for Texas sub-contractors.
Marcus and Priya spend a year interviewing 200+ Texas contractors across all four trades to map the real workflow gaps.
First version of Contractor's Dream launches in private beta with 12 plumbing contractors in the DFW area.
Expands to electrical and drywall trades. Reaches 300 active contractors and processes its first $100M in invoices.
HVAC trade support launches. Diane joins as Head of Operations. Platform covers all 254 Texas counties.
Surpasses 1,200 active contractors and $2.4B in invoices processed. Sub-contractor payroll module ships.
